Autentica Pergola
My review: We have stayed at this casa before and whilst staying in Santa Clara we would definitely not stay anywhere else. Since our last stay they have opened up a lovely restaurant and sun terrace. By UK standards I would say this casa is more of a 'boutique hotel'. If you are driving the host can arrange secured parking (extra fee @ 2 cuc per night) the family who look after your car are lovely. The casa is within walking distance to Che's monument and the famous train scene.

Hostel Autentica Pergola
My review: A stunning oasis on an ordinary street!
We only stayed one night and wished it had been longer. Beautiful house with a beautiful courtyard garden and rooftop terrace. The rooms were very comfortable, leading off the Courtyard, and the bathrooms out of this world - well certainly out of Cuba!
We loved Santa Clara too, despite some guide books saying it is boring or not much to see, that is certainly not the case.

Casa Hostal Autentica Pergola
My review: Words can't describe how nice our stays were here.
Carlos was extremely accomodating with all requests, including arranging transport for us to and from the airport in a minivan.
Their exuberant boxer, Dana, stays in an enclosure on the rooftop patio. If you're lucky, you can play with her when she is out and about on the patio.
The room is clean, the ceiling fan provided adequate cooling, with extra help from the a/c when it is humid.
Meals are generously sized.
There was sufficient room in the garden area for me to assemble our bicycles for the start of the tour and break them down and box them again for the return trip. Carlos was also kind enough to let us store our bike boxes and other packing materials while we were trekking around the country.
